MORE ABOUT ME

George Rinker, MS, MDiv., LPC

I earned my MS in Counseling from Georgia State University and am a Licensed Professional Counselor both in the State of Georgia and in the State of North Carolina.  I also earned my MDiv. from Columbia Theological Seminary.  My work is professional and not religious based unless the client asks for help in those areas.  My undergraduate degrees include a BS in Business Administration and a BA in Education from Presbyterian College.  I have taught psychology and counseling on both the undergraduate and graduate levels in various colleges and Universities in the Atlanta area, as well served in various leadership positions in the community.  While in school I earned book money cutting hair, a trade I had learned from my mother. Later I followed that creativity and love of talking to others all the way to becoming a Licensed Barber.

Originally, I am from Augusta, Georgia and have one, younger brother.  I have been called a “Renaissance Man” as I have a large variety of interests including the outdoors, hiking, camping, mountain biking, skiing, swimming, sailing, scuba diving, running, wood working, playing my violin in local orchestras, making a violin, traveling, architecture, my dog, gardening, and exploring new things.

My adventurous spirit has taken me to many places to explore how others live and I have been enriched by every new place and person I have met.  My counseling style is reflective of my adventurous spirit and love of encouraging others toward meeting their personal goals and finding their own personal success. I am honored and happy to assist you in your journey, too.
